About TextBase

This Research TextBase is a testament to the belief that there is psychoanalytic and Jungian Analytic research underpinning the work of psychoanalytic psychotherapists and Jungian analysts. Further more this research can demonstrate the validity and efficacy of practice based research, especially in quantative studies, in this field.

The intent of this site is to gather up all the unpublished dissertations from these practitioners, and all available published material. This is in order to promote and demonstrate that there is a research basis for our work which can be demonstrated ,for instance, to Government bodies and the NHS. Also:

It establishes an easily accessible online research depository which permits practitioners to access materials around research issues, especially relating to theory and practice.

It’s availability will include those usually excluded from the search facilities of the NHS and the Universities

  • It collates already existing materials on research
  • It raises the profile of research
  • It promotes psychoanalytic practice as a research based process, using research that can support a NHS ‘Competencies’ base and also distinguish it and its consequences from other forms of psychotherapy.
  • It interacts with other psychoanalytic and Jungian practitioners around research.
  • It facilitates further research in psychoanalytic theory and practice.
  • It is hoped through this website to promote and support practice based research, not just in research settings, but for the individual practitioner and through the inclusion of research in the training programmes.

The volume of work required for this task necessitates a collaborative and co-operative approach. Each ‘researcher’ is required to go through a series of procedures in order to place their research on line. We ask for your forbearance and time to achieve this.
